Welcome to the new Bungo Blog!

So here it is…

The biggest message we took away from the AGM in October was that you wanted improvements in the Bungo Blog. I for one want to say a huge ‘Thank You’ to Matt, Jonathan, Chris and Dee for all their efforts in the last month. There is still room for improvement, and if you have a special interest, know some history about the area, or would like to contribute to, or edit, your own section, then please get in touch. Alternatively, you can all register to post here, or in the forum. This is your Blog.

As you’ll see below, the Strathbungo Society is having it’s Christmas party next week in Grianach, so join us for a drink to say hello, or to tell us all about your plans.

Hope to see you there…

Strathbungo Christmas Party

Join us for the Strathbungo Christmas Party on Tuesday 14th December at 7.30 in Grianach on Nithsdale Road. It’s a great way to meet some of your friends and neighbours, and the regulars will be there so you can let us know what you think about the new website. Diana and Haydn will be putting on a spread, and the party is bring-your-own-bottle.

Bungo Blog Survey

Since the October Strathbungo Society AGM when many of you indicated that the Bungo Blog could be improved, a few volunteers have offered to refresh the website. But rather than impose our own ideas we want to hear what residents of Strathbungo would like to see on the site.

The survey is just five quick questions which won’t take you five minutes to complete and we promise to post the results of the survey on Bungo Blog to show what everyone said.

We are doing our best to refresh the Bungo Blog so constructive criticisms and ideas are welcome in equal measure. But best of all of course is if you are interested in volunteering to write periodically for the Bungo Blog please do get in touch. Thanks very much in advance for completing the survey.

Strathbungo Society AGM 2010

The 2010 AGM will be held on Monday the 18th of October at 7.30pm in the Queens Park church hall, 180 Queens Drive.

We are ready to invest our Landfill Communities Fund Grant to develop our local park. Choose between the Queen’s Park Performance Project and new play equipment. Also on the agenda:

  • Bungo in the Back Lanes – can it continue?
  • The value of volunteering – your society needs you

For full details, see the AGM flyer (PDF).
