The forthcoming Strathbungo Society monthly meeting on 15 December 2015 will be an informal, social meeting and will take place at 7.30pm in the ‘Den’ at The Bungo, Nithsdale Road. All are welcome for a wee pre-Christmas prandial.
The agenda items are (i) prep for Bungo at the Bells, and (ii) ideas for news items in the forthcoming Strathbungo News to be published in the early New Year and we can hopefully deal with them quickly to allow folks to meet and talk.
The next formal Committee meeting will be held on Tuesday 19 January 2016; this will take place in the basement of the Bungo as will most of the subsequent meetings in 2016 and will review the main actions from our November meeting.
Weans in the Lanes is back for its pre-Christmas outing this Sunday 6th December from 10am-12pm. Three lanes are taking part this month, look out for bunting and signs to let you know which ones.
A break in the never-ending rain is forecast for Sunday, so come out and enjoy some winter air with friends and neighbours.
Weans in the Lanes is back for its second outing tomorrow morning (Sunday 1st Nov) from 10am-12noon.
Once again, the lanes will be closed to through traffic in order to allow kids to play freely. All are welcome, come and see the lanes full of life!
Don’t forget, it is the Strathbungo Society’s AGM at 7.30pm this coming Tuesday 27th Oct at Queens Park Parish Church, 170 Queens Drive.
We’ll be celebrating 20 years of the Society with a trip down memory lane featuring past campaigns, events and a few interesting photos!
It is also a chance for people to show their support for the Society and get involved with their local community. We are in real need of fresh blood to help keep much-loved events like Bungo in the Back Lanes and Bungo at the Bells going.
Needing help with a range of tasks from helping with the website to delivering leaflets, all we are looking for is enthusiasm! So, come along and resister your interest. It’s a great way to feel a true part of your community and get to know your neighbours in the process.

Thanks to everyone who helped out with the first Weans in the Lanes yesterday morning. It was a real success, with a bouncy castle, scooters, archery and lots of games of hopscotch all making an appearance in the lanes. The next one will be on Sunday 1st November from 10am-12pm and then the first Sunday of every month after that.
