We’ve had some enquiries about Network Rail and tree cutting, responding to rumours that they will be coming back soon to do more work. Network Rail are required to give residents notice of the work, which should be three weeks before they begin. The Strathbungo Society will be contacting Network Rail to get an idea whether they intend to come back and do some more cutting and whether they are going to deal with the Japanese knotweed that infests the embankments.
Update is that Network Rail have put letters through doors – to Moray Place at least – saying that they are starting from 24th Feb to 30 March, Sat – Fri 23.00 – 07.00 to do ‘vegetation management works’ between Pollokshaws East and Pollokshields West. There is contact information on the letter and information about what they are intending to do. I have not heard them yet, so not sure if they have started – is now 4th March. Happy to show the letter to anyone who has not seen it.
