Council Refuse Collection

Most of you will have had a council refuse collection schedule through your door.  The schedule gives diary dates for all bins, blue recycling bins (all paper, tins, plastic bottles and now card), purple glass recycling bins, brown garden waste bins and domestic waste bins.

In case you didn’t get a copy, here it is with everything explained.

Lets just hope the council stick to their own schedule…

The blue recycling bins of the flats at the front of Strathbungo never seem to be collected. They have been full for about 2 months.

I’m not exactly sure where the bins are that you’re talking about, but the GCC website has a ‘contact us’ link on this page for missed bin collections: http://www.glasgow.gov.uk/en/Residents/Environment/Refuse_Recycling/Household/

There is also a place to make contact by telephone at 0141 287 9700 for missed collections.

It would be great if you could report the bins so that the council becomes aware of the places they need to collect from.

Thanks for the information above, Paula. I’ve just been looking at the dates on the website, and it looks like at last all the Squares and Gardens will have Wednesday collections on the days above.

However, in GCC’s wisdom, the flats along Pollokshaws Road will have blue bins collected fortnightly on a Tuesday, starting next Tuesday, 6th September.
