Strathbungo is playing a big part in this year’s Doors Open Day. Andrew Greg will be hosting his popular Strathbungo architecture walk. So if you missed it at Bungo In The Back Lanes, now is your chance.
For the first time he will also open his home, No 1 Moray Place, to the public. This is one of Strathbungo’s architectural gems and former home of Alexander ‘Greek’ Thomson. You can see how the restoration is progressing and some of the original features Andrew has uncovered over the last few years.
The event starts at 3pm.

Join your friends and neighbour at the Spring Bungo Coffee Break. We’ll have fresh home baking, crafts plus the legendary Bungo book stall.
It’s all happening on Saturday, 18 March, 11am-1pm at Queens Park Church, 175 Queens Drive.

A Strathbungo Society Event
Bring your friends and family to Strathbungo’s annual Hogmanay street party!
For the 8th straight year, Strathbungo will be bringing in the New Year with our annual Hogmanay street party at and around the corner of Moray Place and Marywood Square.
Bungo at the Bells 2006 will kick off from two gathering points – 1 Moray Place and Vennard Gardens at Titwood Road – at around 11.30pm on Saturday, 31st December – and from there we’ll be rounding up revellers to make their way to the main site in time for the countdown to the Bells.
Come along and enjoy some music and merriment with your neighbours before setting off on your own rounds of first footing. And do by all means bring your friends and family from outside the community – show them how we do things, Bungo-style!

In case of truly dreadful weather on the night, check back here for the latest information. And remember, even last year when Edinburgh cancelled their Hogmanay event, Bungo at the Bells went ahead – so dress warm and be ready to party!

Come along this Saturday and meet your neighbours – find some bargains, buy some Fair Trade goods, try your luck on the Tombola and Lucky Lollies, then browse through the second-hand book stall (believed to be the best in the south of Glasgow).
It’s the Strathbungo Society’s annual autumn knees-up, designed to celebrate our community and raise some much needed funds for staging more events and activities. Combine it with a visit to the Farmer’s Market in Queens Park!

Strathbungo’s own Greek Thomson Trail will be featured in this year’s national Architecture Week, 17-24 June, a celebration of the built environment throughout the UK.
“Get Closer to Architecture” is the theme for the weeklong extravaganza which aims to bring buildings to life through a series of visual and sensory experiences. Some 500 events are scheduled to take place up and down the country.
The Strathbungo Walk, staged by the Strathbungo Society as part of our annual Bungo in the Back Lanes, will start at 1.30pm on Saturday, 18 June, assembling outside Sammy Dow’s in Nithsdale Road and lasting approximately 90 minutes.
Andrew Greg, local resident and art historian, will lead the walk, looking at the origins, growth and architectural features of the conservation area and surrounding community.
Admission is free and no booking is required. A colour booklet will be available to accompany the walk, price £1.
