Something that’s been talked about a bit in the past but never really progressed is the idea of creating Strathbungo welcome packs for people new to the area. If you sell up or let to new tenants, it could be something you leave behind.
The main purpose would be to fill in the annoying knowledge gaps you often get when moving to a new place – what’s the bin etiquette? Where’s the nearest doctor? A good plumber? A free cash machine? A lot of this info is on the blog…but how do you find out about the blog?
I think it would be great if the Society could put together something that movers could print out and leave for the new residents – a nice way to say hello to the neighbourhood and make them feel part of the Bungo community.
What would you like to see included? What do you wish you’d known about when you moved here, or what do you wish your new neighbours had known about!
It is always good to have takeaway menus too….
As a newcomer myself I think that a welcome pack would be a great idea. I just came across this website while trying to look up Strathbungo history. And a very good website it is 🙂
