Supermarket giants queue up for ageing shopping mall
Tesco, Waitrose and Asda are believed to be among a host of retailers running the rule over the ageing Shawlands shopping arcade on the southside of Glasgow.
AWG Property bought the 1960s arcade a month ago in a £21 million deal and is reviewing the options open to it.
The residential area surrounding the arcade has undergone dramatic demographic change in recent years, and AWG said both Glasgow City Council and the local MSP Gordon Jackson are keen to see the site redeveloped.
