Strathbungo has been fortunate in recent months, with many shops and businesses which had been empty for some time being taken over by new tenants. However, there are still one or two empty frontages – none more prominent than the former site of Park Gallery on the corner of Pollokshaws Rd and Torrisdale St.
There’s a great range of shops locally but what do you think is missing? If you could have any shop on your doorstep, what would it be? I’d love to see a craft shop or haberdashers open up here – the back room could even be used by craft groups. Who knows, maybe someone will see a business opportunity in the making!

Honestly? Well, it would be nice if that post office was still there, and we could use a bank.
But, one thing I’d love to have in the neighborhood is an office supply shop with paper, envelopes, binders, ink cartridges, small computer equipment, and all the other things needed for a home office. I think there are more than a few people working from home around here, and it’s difficult to find office supplies in the area.
Oh, the irony, because of course it used to be a bank! It’s funny how stuff like office supplies and craft/haberdashery supplies are all the sorts of things I used to go to Woolworths for!
