——————————————

A Temporary Traffic Order

is proposed for closure of this part of Nithsdale Road from 4pm on Friday 20th June 2014 to 10pm on Saturday 21st June 2014.  During this time all cars, vans, trailers, boats etc will be unable to park on this part of Nithsdale Road.

This morning a car crashed into no.41 Nithsdale Road. The council has said that the building structure is safe. It seems the driver thought he was in reverse but was actually in drive. Driver reported to be OK.

Thoughts on Strathbungo Commonwealth Games

To lend us your views, please come along to our public meeting downstairs at The Bungo at 7.30pm on Tuesday 18th February 2014. Click on the flyer to find out more.

New date – Strathbungo Society meeting

Further to the recent post, afraid the Strathbungo Society meeting will now take place on Tuesday 28th January NOT Tuesday 21st January.

Apologies for this change, we will still discuss regular items plus plans for the area’s Commonwealth Games celebration. Just to confirm, details for the next meeting are:

7.30pm, ,The Bungo, Tuesday 28th January 2014

Strathbungo Society meeting – Tuesday 21st January 2014

Just a reminder that the first Strathbungo Society meeting of 2014 is taking place at 7.30pm

on Tuesday 21st January at The Bungo.

Alongside regular items to be discussed, we will be looking to confirm plans for Strathbungo’s Commonwealth Games celebration. Come along to hear more about the ideas to bring the tug-of-war, a 100m sprint and many more favourite sports and games to Strathbungo’s streets for a day.

An agenda for the meeting is to follow.

Wheelie bins sitting in the lanes

I’m not sure about all the other lanes, but certainly on the Pollokshields Road side of Marywood Square, the wheelie bins from the Pollokshields Road flats are constantly sitting out in the lane, and more recently a large pile of rubbish bags has been deposited that the council refuse to pick up.  We’ve since noticed some of this rubbish finding its way into our bins on Marywood Square – this wouldn’t be a particular problem if they placed their rubbish in the correct bins, but general rubbish is going into the brown waste bin etc, and the council refuse to pick this up too.  Maybe they’re short on bins because they keep getting left out in the lanes and wrecked by cars…who knows?  Any thoughts?  Nobody is taking responsibility for putting them back and it’s starting to look like a dump – I’m starting to get tired of tidying up after others!
