Thanks to everyone who turned out on Sunday morning to help clean our back lanes, despite a no-show from the previously very supportive Clean Glasgow initiative of the Council. As ever, we could have done so much more with a few extra volunteers, but with just nine of us in two hours we did our best, covering the three lanes amongst the squares. We were able to clear a lot of bulk, such as the top left picture in the Queen Square / Regent Park Square lane, then a litter sweep. The resultant pile of cleared rubbish showed the work that went in.
Laura has organised several of these clear-ups, and each time we make a huge difference. However, the area we can cover is always limited by the number of people – perhaps next time, you too could help, then we can cover more of the lanes, and the Moray Place verge as well?
