If its not already in your diary a timely reminder that Saturday 22nd June 2013 the place to be is the annual Bungo in the Back Lanes held between 1-4pm, in the back lanes between Nithsdale Road and Vennard Gardens in Strathbungo. A warm welcome (if not dry!) will be extended to you all.
Full details of the day can be found at www.bungoblog.com
Fancy helping put on Glasgow’s “best local community event”? The Strathbungo Society is always looking for extra volunteers on the big day to help us get things ready and pack things up.
Victims of the success of the event, we’ve found ourselves with a smaller volunteer pool than ever this year because everyone wants to enjoy the day and set up their own stall. Sound familiar? You can help before and after the event doing any of the following:
•Putting up (and later taking down) gazebos, moving tables and chairs, putting out A Frames etc: Meet at 9.30am on Saturday at 26 Marywood Square or follow the noise in the back lanes. For packing up, come to the Society stall at 4pm.
•Baking: We’d love donations of home baking for our tea garden on Marywood and Queen Lane. Just drop it off on the day.
•Prizes: We’re taking donations of prizes for the tombola, bottle stall and raffle. Drop them off at 53 Queen Sq or send me an e-mail if you want them picked up
•Making space: Not holding a stall yourself? We have several stall holders looking for a pitch. They will squeeze in wherever they can on the day but if you’ve got a great garden or yard you think could be used by someone else, get in touch and we can send them your way.
We look forward to seeing you all on the day.
