I don’t know if anyone can help but i was at bungo at the bells and lost a watch and was wondering if anyone handed it in. It would have been lost between the venue and 30 moray place and is of sentimental value so hope some kind person has found it and handed it to the organisers on the night..thanks for any response.
Hi and happy new year from Cookie.
Now we are over the Christmas and New Year rush and beginning the New Year. I am finally finding the time to get the other parts of the Cookie Idea off the ground and wanted to let the Strathbungo community know about them.
We will be opening the grocery section of our shop and hope to offer a selection of quality fruit and veg for sale. I have been approached by the Southside Food share to potentially hold their veg boxes and we would like to extend this idea to the residents of Strathbungo as a whole.
We believe in collective buying, it promotes community activity and makes quality products more affordable. Supports local activities and its economy.
We can offer this service also for olive oil and wine and we are olive oil producers and direct importers for wine from small producers.
We hope that people will be interested in this alternative form of supply and commerce.
Our cooking club will be held every Monday night and also potentially Sunday. Cookie on these nights is no longer a restaurant shop but becomes a club for those interested in eating and cooking collectively. This is motivated by our interest in community integration development.
The cooking club offer the opportunity for people to share their family traditions through one of its binding elements..food. It allows people to share and develop their knowledge. Even if you don’t know how to cook an egg you can come along and learn by association in a relaxed atmosphere.
The January 2010 meeting will be on Monday the 18th of January, 7:30pm at Grianach Café at 38 Nithsdale Road.
Bungo at the Bells 2009 is being held at 53 Queen Square/18 Moray Place. Festivities begin at 11.45pm. Mulled wine and music are provided so come along and see in the new year with the rest of Strathbungo.
Work to rule has been in operation for refuse collection. Residents serviced by the kerbside wheeled bin routes can assist by ensuring all refuse is contained within the bin and the bin lid closed completely. Any waste presented outside the bin will not be collected. Any bins not serviced on their scheduled collection day should be re-presented the following day.
Residents serviced by the backcourt collection service should continue to present their waste at the designated location for uplift.
All residents should be discouraged from placing bulk uplift items at the kerbside until this situation has been resolved. Some depots will be functioning normally on Monday the 16th of November.
The November 2009 meeting will be on Monday the 16th of October, 7:30pm at Grianach Café at 38 Nithsdale Road.
